LifeSize Strengthens Commitment to U.S. Federal Market with JITC Certification
AUSTIN, Texas, August 2, 2010 – To extend its reach into the U.S. federal market, LifeSize® Communications, a division of Logitech (Nasdaq: LOGI) (SIX: LOGN), has achieved Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC) certification for select LifeSize Room™, Team™, and Express™ HD video conferencing systems and the LifeSize Networker™ gateway.
These products have received Interoperability Certification (IOC) and Information Assurance (IA) accreditation from JITC, the organizational element of the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) responsible for certifying joint and combined interoperability of all Department of Defense (DoD) information technology and national security systems.
“HD video conferencing is in great demand by government organizations that are often geographically dispersed and rely heavily on technology to fulfill their mission,” said Paul Cantwell, the new vice president of federal sales for LifeSize. “The JITC certification will now allow all DoD agencies to realize the quality, productivity improvements, return on investment and interoperability that LifeSize systems provide.”
With the JITC certification, LifeSize products are now available through the DoD Unified Capabilities Approved Products List (UC APL). As part of JITC certification, the products were determined to meet IPv6 requirements.
“In addition to the JITC certification, LifeSize is expanding our federal sales organization with our hiring of Paul Cantwell, a Cisco and Tandberg veteran who is a proven leader in the federal market and videoconferencing industry,” said Colin Buechler, senior vice president of worldwide sales and marketing for LifeSize. “Under Paul’s leadership, LifeSize will give federal agencies the superior solutions and support our customers around the globe have come to expect.”
LifeSize is also in the final stages of earning the Federal Information Processing Standard 140-2 (FIPS 140-2).

Im Rahmen seiner neuen Funktion wird Keith Carter für die Entwicklung und Umsetzung der Channel-Strategie und Partnerprogrammen in der Region EMEA verantwortlich sein. Vor diesem Hintergrund wird eine seiner Hauptaufgaben darin bestehen, eine optimale Marktabdeckung durch indirekte Vertriebswege sicherzustellen und das Leistungspotenzial von Vertriebspartnern zu unterstützen, um Polycom beim Erreichen der gesetzten Wachstumsziele zu unterstützen.
Keith Carter verfügt über langjährige Erfahrung in der Netzwerk- und Kommunikationsbranche. Vor seinem Eintritt in das Unternehmen war er bei Orange Business Services für die weltweite Erschließung neuer Geschäftsfelder in den Bereichen Beratung und Integration verantwortlich. Zuvor war er bei Dimension Data und Datacraft in Asien tätig und leitete dort den Geschäftsbereich European Alliances. Keith Carter studierte Ingenieurwissenschaften in London. Bei Polycom wird er seinen Sitz in Slough nahe London einnehmen und seine Geschäfte von dort aus leiten.

Cisco erweitert Partnerbetreuung mit kostenlosem 00800-Telefon-Assistenten - Pressemeldungen 2010

Deutschsprachige Hotline für alle Partner in Deutschland, Österreich und der Schweiz
MÜNCHEN. Cisco kommt mit dem neuen Cisco Partner Assistant dem Wunsch vieler Partner nach, zusätzlich zur persönlichen Partnerbetreuung eine deutschsprachige telefonische Partnerbetreuung einzurichten. Ursprünglich für regionale Partner entwickelt, wird das Angebot nach einem sehr erfolgreichen Roll-Out ab Juli 2010 für alle Partner in Deutschland, Österreich und der Schweiz freigeschaltet. Ein Anrufwachstum von zuletzt 12 Prozent monatlich bestätigt Cisco darin, diesen Support als Ergänzung zum globalen, englischsprachigen Partner Relationship Team auszubauen.
Im Herbst vergangenen Jahres wurde die Hotline 00800-CISCO-800 erstmals regional und lokal tätigen Partnern angeboten. Sie erhielten damit sehr schnell und einfach Informationen, zum Beispiel zu Programmen, finanziellen Rückvergütungen, Registrierung, Weiterbildung, Zertifizierung, Co-Marketing-Unterstützung, Zugang zu Demoprodukten oder dem Abschluss von Support-Verträgen. Inzwischen sind bereits mehrere hundert Anfragen bearbeitet worden. Cisco überwacht dabei die Themen und liefert die erforderlichen Lösungen. So gelang es - insbesondere für neue lokale Partner - eine reibungslos funktionierende Infrastruktur zu erstellen, die den Umgang mit Tools auf den Webseiten von Cisco und dem dahinterliegenden Partner-Programm enorm vereinfacht.
„Neben der unkomplizierten Unterstützung unserer Partner hat die Hotline den Vorteil, dass wir gleichzeitig viel von unseren Resellern lernen“, erklärt dazu Bernd Heinrichs, Managing Director der Partner Sales Group von Cisco für die DACH Region. „Das Feedback unserer Reseller hilft uns, die Tools, Programme und Prozesse kontinuierlich zu verbessern.“
Immer mehr Partner nutzen die Hotline
Nach Veröffentlichung der Telefonnummer 00800-24726-800 auf den Cisco Small-Business Portalen in DACH nutzten immer mehr langjährige Partner diese Hotline. „Auch unsere großen, flächendeckend arbeitenden Partner in Deutschland, Österreich und der Schweiz haben schnell verstanden, dass ihnen hier geholfen wird. Schon während der Testphase gingen 9 Prozent der Anrufe auf das Konto der großen Reseller. Deshalb werden wir diesen Support nun ab Juli auch aktiv allen Partnern zur Verfügung stellen“, so Bernd Heinrichs.

(Nasdaq: PLCM), einer der weltweit führenden Anbieter von Telepresence-, Video- und Audio-Kommunikationslösungen, gibt heute eine Erweiterung des bestehenden, weltweiten Vertrags mit HP bekannt. Im Rahmen dieses Vertrags wird HP zukünftig das gesamte Polycom-Portfolio an Sprach- und Videotechnologien vertreiben und bei der Einführung und Entwicklung neuer Produkte als auch gemeinsamer Technologien mit Polycom zusammenarbeiten.
Auf Basis des erweiterten Vertrags werden Polycoms Video- und Sprachlösungen für Unified Communications als auch Einzellösungen durch HP – als Teil von deren Geschäftsbereich für Unified-Communications und Collaborations Service – vertrieben und ausgeliefert. Dies ermöglicht Unternehmen, die weltweite Präsenz von HP bei der Evaluierung, Entwicklung, Implementierung sowie beim Support von Kommunikationssystemen, die ein konsistentes, hochwertiges Kommunikationserlebnis und einen schnellen ROI ermöglichen, zu nutzen. Beide Unternehmen werden auch Interoperabilität zwischen Polycoms standard-basierten Telepresence- und Videokonferenzlösungen und HPs Halo-Telepresence-Lösung herstellen.

LifeSize Strengthens Commitment To U.S. Federal Market With JITC Certification
AUSTIN, Texas, August 2, 2010 – To extend its reach into the U.S. federal market, LifeSize® Communications, a division of Logitech (Nasdaq: LOGI) (SIX: LOGN), has achieved Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC) certification for select LifeSize Room™, Team™, and Express™ HD video conferencing systems and the LifeSize Networker™ gateway.
These products have received Interoperability Certification (IOC) and Information Assurance (IA) accreditation from JITC, the organizational element of the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) responsible for certifying joint and combined interoperability of all Department of Defense (DoD) information technology and national security systems.
“HD video conferencing is in great demand by government organizations that are often geographically dispersed and rely heavily on technology to fulfill their mission,” said Paul Cantwell, the new vice president of federal sales for LifeSize. “The JITC certification will now allow all DoD agencies to realize the quality, productivity improvements, return on investment and interoperability that LifeSize systems provide.”
With the JITC certification, LifeSize products are now available through the DoD Unified Capabilities Approved Products List (UC APL). As part of JITC certification, the products were determined to meet IPv6 requirements.
“In addition to the JITC certification, LifeSize is expanding our federal sales organization with our hiring of Paul Cantwell, a Cisco and Tandberg veteran who is a proven leader in the federal market and videoconferencing industry,” said Colin Buechler, senior vice president of worldwide sales and marketing for LifeSize. “Under Paul’s leadership, LifeSize will give federal agencies the superior solutions and support our customers around the globe have come to expect.”
LifeSize is also in the final stages of earning the Federal Information Processing Standard 140-2 (FIPS 140-2).

Sie erleichtert Anbietern im Gesundheitswesen den Zugriff auf Patientendaten mit einem hohen Grad an Sicherheit. Dabei spielt es keine Rolle, wo sich der Anbieter oder das IT-System befinden. MDES kombiniert die Application Extension-Platform und die Integrated Services Router (ISR) von Cisco sowie Ciscos Unified Computing System (UCS) mit der Management-Software Electronic Health Record von Tiani Spirit. Cisco präsentiert heute die zweite Generation des Integrated Services Router (ISR G2). Der ISR G2 hilft Unternehmen und Service-Providern Anwendungen wie Videokommunikation oder Collaboration-Lösungen sicher und schnell unabhängig von Ort, Zeit und Gerät zur Verfügung zu stellen. Die neue ISR G2 Reihe ist für zukünftige Geschäftsprozesse und Technologien entwickelt worden, um von überall auf relevante Ressourcen sicher zugreifen zu können und bietet darüber hinaus eine Platform für Applikationen im Aussenstellenbereich. Der ISR G2 ist die erste von fünf Phasen der neuen Cisco-Architektur „Borderless Network“.

Cisco stellt Flip Video in Deutschland vor
Berlin, 3. September 2009 – Auf der IFA gibt Cisco heute bekannt, dass das neue Flip Video-System im November 2009 auf den deutschen Markt gebracht werden soll. Flip Video hat bereits in den USA und Großbritannien eine völlig neue Kategorie von Pocket Video Camcordern begründet. Damit hat es der Nutzer jederzeit in der Hand, immer und überall Videos aufzunehmen und mit anderen zu teilen. Auf den Markt kommen die Geräte der Flip-Range im November. Dabei wird die Ausführung UltraHD in schwarz und der Standard Ultra drei Farbvarianten erhältlich sein. Ferner bietet Cisco den besonders schlanken MinoHD in schwarz und den MinoHD Chrome in schickem Chromglanz. Auf der IFA präsentiert Cisco die Produkte der Flip-Familie in Halle 23 am Stand #103.
