LifeSize Advances HD Video Communications with New and Updated Infrastructure, Management, and Endpoint Capabilities

Enhancements to Video Conferencing Solutions Enable More Seamless Integration in Customer Networks for Improved Collaboration and Productivity

AUSTIN, Texas, July 20, 2010 – LifeSize® Communications, a division of Logitech (Nasdaq: LOGI) (SIX: LOGN), today announced new high definition video conferencing offerings and product enhancements to help enterprises – including teleworkers, mobile employees and executives – collaborate more efficiently, with more robust deployment and management capabilities for IT administrators.

HD data sharing now available for remote desktops and small conference rooms

The newest version of the LifeSize system software, Version 4.7, lets organizations share information such as presentations and spreadsheets over the network using the LifeSize Passport™ system and the recently announced integrated video conferencing system called LGExecutive, powered by LifeSize. A new software application, LifeSize Virtual Link™, enables this data sharing with the use of a PC or Mac. The Version 4.7 software also enables LifeSize Passport and LGExecutive, powered by LifeSize, to stream live HD Video and record, via the LifeSize Video Center. In addition, the LifeSize Desktop™ updated Version 2.0 software now supports data sharing and 720p HD transmit capability for more productive discussions and meetings.

Infrastructure enhancements for broader, more secure deployment and easier administration

The new LifeSize Transit™ Client, combined with LifeSize Transit™ Server, provides a complete state-of-the-art network address translation (NAT) and firewall traversal solution for businesses, to ensure HD video calls can be made reliably both within and outside the organization. The unique Transit Client is the only solution in the market available as either a hardware appliance or a virtual machine option, allowing enterprises to deploy a firewall/NAT traversal solution virtually in their existing server farms without the need to provision extra equipment. In addition, LifeSize Control™, Version 5.0 video management software now ensures IT administrators can more easily manage critical elements of the network, maintaining reliable HD video conferencing, even in heterogeneous video environments. Specifically, LifeSize has designed Control 5.0 to fit any business environment, with new support for LifeSize Desktop and LifeSize Video Center, Google® calendar and scheduling integration, and user-customizable administrator settings and directories.

Supporting Quotes

"These new offerings and product enhancements from LifeSize allow organizations to ensure HD video communications capabilities are broadly available with the highest quality of experience,” said Craig Malloy, CEO of LifeSize Communications. “With every new innovation and advancement, we continue to make good on our promise for HD video communication to become as ubiquitous and easy as a telephone call.”

"Video communications have become a critical tool for improving business capabilities," said Hyoun Park, research analyst, Aberdeen Group. “LifeSize provides practical, value-driven, and cost-effective video applications that match the value proposition identified in Aberdeen's research. By simplifying B2B video communications, bringing data sharing capabilities to the desktop, providing video streaming and recording capabilities on a personal level, and improving video management capabilities, Lifesize has enhanced the business video ecosystem. These new products will help reduce the cost structure and support burden for IT personnel seeking to deploy video throughout the enterprise.”

Pricing and Availability

LifeSize Virtual Link will be available this month for download for existing LifeSize Passport customers at www.lifesize.com/Products/Accessories/Virtual_Link.aspx. LGExecutive, powered by LifeSize, is priced at U.S. $2,999 and is expected to be available in the third calendar quarter of 2010. Mercy Health Deploys LifeSize HD Video Conferencing to Improve Internal Communications and Increase Employee Safety

Editorial Contact

Chandra Hosek, LifeSize Communications – USA (512) 579-2136 - PR@lifesize.com

LifeSize® Communications, a division of Logitech (Nasdaq: LOGI) (SIX: LOGN) and a leading global provider of high definition (HD) video communications, has added Mercy Health to its list of healthcare clients.

Mercy Health and Aged Care Central Queensland Limited is a Catholic provider of health and aged care services with hospitals and aged care facilities in Queensland. The organization has installed LifeSize HD video conferencing solutions in six of its facilities and is already reaping the benefits of enhanced internal communication, collaboration, improved work/life balance and safety for its employees. Working with Instantly There, a LifeSize partner, Mercy installed a LifeSize Room 220™ in its corporate head office facility in Rockhampton and LifeSize Express™ and LifeSize Team 220™ systems in smaller meeting rooms and facilities in various locations in Central Queensland.

Marcia Healy, information systems officer at Mercy Health said the LifeSize system was easily integrated into their everyday business activities and has transformed internal communication within the organisation.

“Our employees are spread across many different locations so the video communications system has added a new speed and dimension to our internal communication. With this new system, we can meet more spontaneously. There is now no need to travel as frequently. We are also assured that there is no compromise on quality when meeting via video conferencing as the experience is as if you were meeting face to face. In particular, one of our surgeons has commented that since using LifeSize to participate in education sessions and peer reviews, he feels as though he is now actually participating with the other people as opposed to feeling like a distant observer.”

“An important benefit of installing the system is improved employee safety. Previously some staff had to drive up to eight hours to attend a regular two hour meeting. Reducing this travel has increased their productivity, enhanced work/life balance and has improved their safety by reducing the risk of car accidents and fatigue on the road.”

“Everyone has been very impressed by the quality of the video and audio of the system including how easy it is to use, so it has been quickly embraced by our staff.”

Warwick Prince, technical director of Instantly There, a partner of LifeSize, said after Mercy viewed the demonstration, the LifeSize equipment essentially sold itself.

“Prior to LifeSize, Mercy had a defunct, ineffective, big name video conferencing system sitting in its boardroom. When we hosted the demonstration, Mercy was immediately impressed by the quality of the system and how well it integrated with its existing infrastructure.”

Tim Fulton, country manager for Australia, LifeSize Communications said the company is at the forefront of a HD video conferencing boom, particularly within primary industries such as health and education.

“Over the past six months we’ve seen growing demand across all industries, including health and education where organisations are looking to cut down travel time and costs but can’t afford to sacrifice on quality – an engaging and true-to-life experience is paramount.”

“Many have had experience with the video conferencing systems of the past, which are expensive, offer poor quality, and as a result, are barely used. When customers like Mercy Health experience LifeSize solutions, they instantly see that we can offer a more flexible, immersive video solution. It’s because of this growing reputation that we have companies looking to LifeSize for innovative and creative HD video solutions to solve real business problems.”
